2014-2018 GRÜNDUNG UND DIE ERSTEN JAHRE
Nach seinen Austritt bei den deutschen Thrashern Assassin suchte der Sänger Robert Gonnella
nach einem neuen Betätigungsfeld.
Der ehemalige Human-Bastard Gitarrist Dirk Preylowski suchte zu diesem Zeitpunkt einen fähigen Sänger für seine eigenen Stücke, und da man sich durch die 80er DDT Zeit auf der
Ronsdorfer Strasse (Proberaum-Mekka, unter anderem von WARLOCK und vielen weitern Bands) kannte, lag es nahe gemeinsame Wege zu gehen. Der Grundstein war gelegt.
Das Ziel war es, den musikalischen Stil des Thrash Metals der 80er Jahre weiter zu erhalten und für künftige Generationen zu bewahren.
Da Rob in seiner Zeit in China (1994-2012) eine erfolgreiche Thrashmetal Band namens
„Raging Mob“ hatte, war auch der entsprechende Name für die Band schnell gefunden:

DIE ENTSTEHUNG DES DEBÜTALBUMS:
Da es bereits genug gutes Material Seitens der Mitglieder gab, lag es nahe dieses auch für die
Ewigkeit zu erhalten.
Rob schneiderte seine Texte für die Stücke von Dirk und Maik zurecht und die Aufnahmen
konnten beginnen.

Das Album erschien unter dem Titel ‚Always The True Assassin‘ und enthielt acht eigene Songs,
ein Raging Mob-Stück (Manifesto), sowie zwei Assassin-Klassiker von den Alben „Interstellar Experience“ und „Upcomming Terror“ (Fight & Resolution 588) und ein AC/DC Cover
(Walk all over you)
Das Album wurde im Rock Hard (24.07.2018) zur besten Eigenproduktion des Monats gekürt!

2023-2025 – GIGS UND ERSTER LINE UP WECHSEL
Durch gesundheitsbedingte Probleme musste Frank Nellen (Drums) leider was kürzer treten,
was die Band dazu veranlaßt hat nach einem weiteren Drummer Ausschau zu halten.
Patrick Nau (ex-Contradiction) konnte für den Posten begeistert werden und wurde so zum
6. Mitglied.

2025-2027 – ERNEUTE LINE UP WECHSEL UND NEUES ALBUM
Ende 2025 verließ Patrick Nau (Drums) die Band, um sich uneingeschränkt um sein eigenes
Musikprojekt ḱümmern zu können.
Im September 2025 übernahm Hardy Streich die Drumsticks, ein alter Bekannter von Maik,
und konnte sich beim Metal in Gladbeck Festival direkt beweisen.
Leider was das auch Basser Rudi’s letzte Show mit Raging Rob, da er schon vor einem Jahr in den hohen Norden umgezogen ist und die Anfahrtswege einfach zu weit waren.
Ersatz fand man aber direkt im Produzenten des ersten Albums und Soundmann Markus Frehn,
der interimsmäßig den Job des Bassmanns übernahm.
Seit Anfang Mai schreibt die Band an neuen Stücken für das zweite Album.
Rund zehn Songs werden im November aufgenommen, die Veröffentlichung wird auf dem
DDT Festival im März 2027 sein.

2014–2018: FOUNDING AND THE EARLY YEARS
After leaving the German thrash band Assassin, vocalist Robert Gonnella
was looking for a new musical outlet.
At the time, former Human Bastard guitarist Dirk Preylowski was seeking a capable vocalist for his own compositions. Since the two already knew each other from the 1980s DDT era on Ronsdorfer Strasse—a rehearsal space mecca used by Warlock and many other bands—joining forces was a natural step. The foundation had been laid.
The goal was to uphold the musical style of 1980s thrash metal and preserve it for future generations.
Because Rob had fronted a successful thrash metal band called „Raging Mob“
during his time in China (1994–2012), the perfect name for the new band was quickly found:
RAGING ROB.

THE CREATION OF THE DEBUT ALBUM:
Since the members already had plenty of quality material, it made sense to preserve it
for posterity.
Rob tailored his lyrics to fit the songs written by Dirk and Maik, and
recording could begin. Contributors included:

The album was released under the title *Always The True Assassin* and featured eight original songs,
one Raging Mob track („Manifesto“), two Assassin classics from the albums *Interstellar Experience* and *Upcoming Terror* („Fight“ & „Resolution 588“), and an AC/DC cover
(„Walk All Over You“).
The album was named „Best Self-Produced Release of the Month“ by *Rock Hard* magazine (July 24, 2018)!
2019–2023: COVID-19 HIATUS
2023–2025 – GIGS AND FIRST LINE-UP CHANGE
Due to health issues, Frank Nellen (drums) unfortunately had to scale back his activities,
prompting the band to look for another drummer.
Patrick Nau (ex-Contradiction) was successfully recruited for the role,
becoming the band’s sixth member. Several legendary performances followed:

2025–2027 – FURTHER LINE-UP CHANGES AND A NEW ALBUM
In late 2025, Patrick Nau (drums) left the band to focus entirely on his own
music project.
In September 2025, Hardy Streich—an old acquaintance of Maik’s—took over on drums
and immediately proved his mettle at the Metal in Gladbeck Festival.
Unfortunately, this was also bassist Rudi’s final show with Raging Rob, as he had
moved to the far north a year prior and the commute was simply too long.
However, a replacement was quickly found in Markus Frehn—the producer of their
first album and their sound engineer—who stepped in as the interim bassist.
Since early May, the band has been writing new material for their second album.
Around ten songs are set to be recorded in November, with the release scheduled
for the DDT Festival in March 2027.
